Meet the doctor

Melissa Welty, DDS, FIDIA

I would like to welcome all patients to my dental office in Spring Texas. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1991 and my Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1995, both from West Virginia University. Immediately following Dental School, I entered an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed this in 1996. I worked in the Houston area as an Associate Dentist in a couple of different offices before opening my Spring office in the Fall of 2004. When I'm away from the office, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my three sons and my husband, Gary Welty, who manages Klein Crossing Dental.

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry is one of dentistry’s latest advances. Laser dentistry can be used for both tooth and soft tissue related procedures. Oftentimes no local anesthesia is required. Unlike with the dental drill, with laser dentistry there is no heat or vibration, making the procedure quite comfortable for most patients. For soft tissue (surgical) procedures it eliminates the need for suturing and healing is much faster.
